Jane’s Walk Bronx Art Spaces was a Success!

As tired as I was after the Jane’s Walk of Bronx Art Spaces last weekend, I was really pleased with how everything turned out. People from all over New York City and even from overseas, visited the No Longer Empty exhibit at the Old Bronx Courthouse, Bronx Museum of the Arts, Bronx Art Space, and House of Visual. Even local restaurants Mott Haven Bar and Don Pancho’s Steakhouse offered specials to participants of the walk. The Saturday walk serendipitously coincided with Ceetay’s third anniversary celebration and an opening at Wall Works gallery, so some participants decided to stick around for that, which was amazing. Below are some of the pictures from the weekend. 🙂

5 Reasons to go to the Jane’s Walk Exploring Bronx Art Spaces this Weekend

1. You love art.

The Bronx is filled with so many wonderful artists. This walk introduces you to what’s current in the borough and you’ll have a chance to speak with some of the artists themselves!

2. You love the Bronx.

The Bronx is awesome (obviously.) But maybe you want to get to know it a little more. This walk will make you fall in love with the Bronx all over again.

3. The only time you have ever been to the Bronx was to go to a Yankee game.

That’s quaint, but expand your horizons. There’s so much more to the Bronx than a baseball team!

4. You didn’t know the Bronx even had an art scene.

We do. And it’s amazing.

5. Your weekend plans involve spending a copious amount of time watching Netflix.

The weather’s going to be nice. Come outside and experience something new.

Bonus:  After the walk, local restaurants Don Pancho’s Steakhouse and Mott Haven Bar  will be offering specials to participants. And, though they weren’t able to be a part of the walk, Wall Works gallery’s having an open house on Saturday AND Ceetay will be celebrating 3 years in Mott Haven. It’s just going to be an overall awesome weekend to be in the Bronx.
